Hankook Tire

Case Study: Hankook Tire

Location: Clarksville, TN

Project Size: 170,000 sqft and 135-feet tall Automated Storage Retrieval System facility

Contractor: Worked directly with Hankook Tire Manufacturing

Scope: Wet Pipe and Installed (6) Roof Level wet pipe systems and (6) In-Rack wet pipe systems, 10-month project duration, 25,000 K22 sprinkler heads installed

Construction was already about 50% complete when we were awarded the contract, and the site posed significant challenges due to extremely limited space. With no room to stage materials using a crane, our team had to develop creative solutions to safely move material within racks reaching heights of 130 feet. At times, we deployed up to 45 field personnel while adhering to the strictest safety protocols. Through careful planning and execution, we not only brought the project back on schedule but ultimately completed our work ahead of all other trades.

This project involved the fire protection installation for a 170,000-square-foot, 135-foot-tall Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) facility at Hankook Tire Manufacturing in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The scope included six roof-level wet pipe systems and six in-rack wet pipe systems, with a total of 25,000 K22 sprinkler heads installed over the 10-month project duration.

When awarded the contract, construction was already approximately 50% complete, and the site presented major logistical challenges due to extremely limited space that prevented the use of cranes to stage materials.

Our team engineered creative solutions to safely transport materials within racks reaching up to 130 feet high. At peak manpower, as many as 45 field personnel were deployed, all while maintaining the strictest safety protocols. Through disciplined coordination and execution, we not only brought the project back on schedule but successfully completed our scope ahead of all other trades.
