Questions people actually ask

Do I need experience to apply for a field role?

Not always. We hire apprentices and entry-level field hands and train you on the job. If you are motivated, reliable, and willing to learn a trade, we want to talk. Experienced journeymen, ITM techs, and service techs are also actively being hired.

Do you pay for NICET certifications and other licenses?

Yes. We reimburse exam fees for NICET and other relevant certifications, and we support paid study time. Career growth is one of the main reasons people stay here.

Is healthcare really 100% company-paid?

Yes, for the employee. We cover 100% of the employee health insurance premium. Dependent coverage is available at additional cost.

What is the work schedule like?

Field installation is typically a daytime weekday schedule with overtime opportunities. ITM and service work is route-based with on-call rotations for some roles. Office roles follow standard business hours, with hybrid flexibility where possible.

What if I do not see my role listed?

Apply anyway. Submit your resume and select the role closest to your skill set. We keep applications on file and reach out as roles open.

Is Ironsmith Fire a union or merit shop?

We are a merit shop, which means pay and advancement are based on skill, performance, and certifications, not seniority or contract scales.
